Synopsis:

The presentation will begin with a brief history of the Woolwich Ferry, its origins, operators over the years and how it came into the TfL family. Bradley Ling will then give an overview of the regulatory regime applicable to ferry operations and the operational structure now in place to meet the requirements of the various regulatory stakeholders. David Burton will then outline the engineering and technical aspects of today's ferry operations, explaining some of the challenges facing TfL for an operation which requires on-going Capex and Opex yet which generates no customer revenue.
